In my view the Deepsea is preferable with the black dial over the JC, especially if you already have a Bluesy. While lovely the JC dial is too in your face while the black is a beefy sleeper. And I also prefer the previous additional line of text as it balances out the dial. Not only did it have some weight to it but it also was much bigger and different from any Rolex watches I’d seen at that time. I bought it for 7k in 2014 and loved it. Hands-On Sure, Nobody Asked For A (Nearly) Solid-Gold Rolex Deepsea. Yes, It's Ridiculous. But I Sure Ain't Mad They Made One. It's nearly 320 grams of gold (and some titanium), it has a blue lacquer dial, and I desperately, desperately want to go diving with it.

I loved my GMTIIC but I need the larger size. There is something about peeling the plastic off tor the first time on a Rolex you just never tire of. I think the new Rolex Deepsea Challenge is the coolest thing in watch news in a long time. Its one of those things that I would love to own, but just looking and reading about it is still fun and entertaining. For me, the biggest detractor is the Titanium construction. If it was offered in stainless I would be making the call to get on the list.
